Detail Syllabus for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, CAPFs, CRPF and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF examination are given below-
A. General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would contain questions of both verbal and non verbal type. In this specific section we can learn similarities and differences, questions on analogies, space visualization, problem solving, spatial orientation, analysis, judgment, decision making, discrimination, observation, visual memory, relationship concepts, arithmetic number series, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, coding and decoding, non-verbal series, statement-conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. Another topics are, symbolic/ number analogy, figural analogy, semantic analogy, semantic classification, symbolic/ number classification, figural classification, semantic series, number series, figural series, word building, problem solving, coding & de-coding, symbolic operations, numerical operations, space visualization, space orientation, trends, venn diagrams, drawing inferences, punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding, figural pattern-folding and completion, embedded figures, indexing address matching, date & city matching classification, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, social intelligence, other sub-topics if any.
B. General Awareness : This section may cover questions which will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be organised to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of day to day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. In this test there may also chances of asking questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Geography, Culture, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Economic Scene, scientific Research etc.
C. Quantitative Aptitude : The questions will be prepared to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The motive of the test will be computation of decimals, whole numbers, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Square roots, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time and distance, Time & work, Mixture and Allegation, Partnership Business, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Triangle , Quadrilaterals, Trigonometric ratio, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Frequency polygon, Right Circular Cone, Regular Polygons, Sphere, Hemispheres, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Right Prism, Right Circular Cylinder, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Degree and Radian Measures, Complementary angles, Standard Identities, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
D. English Comprehension : In this part candidate’s capability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.
English Language & Comprehension: Probable questions in this part will may be prepared to check the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English and will be based on error recognition, Sentence Completion, Vocabulary, fill in the blanks (using articles, preposition, verbs etc.), Sentence Structure, Synonyms-Antonyms, Grammar, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.
